Beverly Virginia Hansen, 84, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 15, 1928, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Clifford and Nellie (Ewer) Rose. Beverly was one of nine brothers and sisters. She married Morris Hansen on June 15, 1950. They lived in Kingsford until they relocated to Racine, Wis., in 1958, and later settled in Neenah, Wis.
Beverly moved back to her hometown of Iron Mountain after the death of her beloved husband in 2002. She was a homemaker as well as cared for small children of working parents during the day. She was known to many children as "mom".
She has been a mother and grandma to many and a friend to all God has blessed her.
Beverly is survived by three sons, Thomas Hansen, Waterford, Wis., Randy Hansen, Ricky Hansen, both of Iron Mountain; one sister, Marlene Towns, Niagara; two brothers, Darral Rose, Iron Mountain, Dickie Rose, Neenah; seven grandchildren, Carey Simons, Vanessa Ivey, Justin Hansen, Jessica Bays, Ivan Hansen, Kenyan Hansen, Dusty Hansen; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be Saturday, August 25, 2012, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The memorial celebration will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. All will miss her. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.
