Iron Mountain- Betty Jean Tuthill, 87, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich. She was born on June 9, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Folke and Lilly (Ohlberg) Ullenius. Betty graduated from Kingsford High School on June 4, 1952. She then went on to nursing school in Chicago, where she received her RN Degree on October 30, 1955. Betty married Allen F. Tuthill on March 7, 1959, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2015. She worked as a nurse from 1955 until 1963, at which time she stayed home to raise her family. They resided in Florida for 36 years and then moved to Madison, Wis., where they lived for six years. Betty, along with her husband Allen Sr., wintered in Florida for many years, and after Allen Sr. passed away, she moved to Iron Mountain in June of 2019. Betty enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Allen (Wren) Tuthill, Clearwater, Florida, and Caitlin Tuthill, Appleton, Wis.; two grandchildren, Jenna and Jack Tuthill; one brother, Ken (Jan) Ullenius, Iron Mountain, Mich.; and one sister, Linda (Jerry) Honda, Iron Mountain, Mich.
