Bethel F. Wallner, 92, of Kingsford, fell asleep in death, Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain.
She was born, March 15, 1921, in Pentoga, Iron County. Daughter of the late William and Apollonia (Briggs) Dexter.
Bethel grew up in Iron County and the Watersmeet area. She married Claude Wallner. He preceded her in death in 1999. After being married they lived in Iron River and later Oconto, Wis. They traveled extensively, moving to different areas, as they followed Claude's career on the Railroad.
Bethel enjoyed archeology and searching for Indian artifacts as well as picking berries and mushrooms.
She is survived by one son, Paul (Iris Furlo) Wallner, Kingsford; one brother, John (Eileen) Dexter, Duluth, Minn.; two grandchildren, Nathan and Chelsea; one great-grandson, Jameson, who she loved very dearly; one sister-in-law, June Wallner, Kingsford and special friends Marge Zeeb and Fred Jump.
Visitation will be Monday, November 18, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
