Obituary

Niagara: Bernard L. Trottier, age 80, of 1017 Forest Street, Niagara, Wisconsin, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Bernard was born on July 29, 1922, in Goodman, Wisconsin, son of the late Alex and Alvina (Adams) Trottier. Bernard grew up and attended school in Goodman. He served in the U.S. Army from November 12, 1942 until he was honorably discharged on September 11, 1945. Bernard married Stephanie Hohol on November 24, 1945, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara, Wisconsin. They resided in Chicago a few years before moving back to Niagara in 1949. He worked at Niagara of Wisconsin Paper Mill for many years, retiring in 1993. Bernard was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the Niagara Volunteer Fire Department for forty-five years, the American Legion and VFW of Niagara. He enjoyed many hobbies especially hunting and fishing. He is survived by two sons Thomas (Rhonda) Trottier of Niagara, Wisconsin, and Gerald Trottier of Aurora, Wisconsin, two daughters Sandra (Dan) Edick of Niagara, Wisconsin and Donna (Rick) Kalkofen of Goodman, Wisconsin, two brothers Clarence (Ann) Trottier of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Allen (Ann) Trottier of Laona, Wisconsin, ten grandchildren, Toni, Sherry, Brian, Danielle, Heidi, Melissa, Brandon, Veronica, Michael, and David, eleven great grandchildren Cassie, Tim, Storm, Brenden, Ashley, Chance, Hunter, Tieley, Tabatha, and Jonathen, and Kya-leigh, sister-in-law Marie Trottier of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded by one son, Timothy Trottier in 1987, one brother, William Trottier, two sisters, and one granddaughter Nichole Trottier. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2003, from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Niagara, Wisconsin. The American Legion and VFW of Niagara will conduct a Veterans Memorial Service at 10:45A.M. at the church. The Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at 11:00A.M. at the church, with Father Michael Betley officiating. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
