Iron Mountain:
Bernard "Doc" F. Schinderle, age 71, a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born October 24, 1933, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late Frank J. and Delila (Torma) Schinderle. He attended Iron Mountain schools and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1953. He served in the US Navy. He married Jeanette Honkala on September 30, 1961, in Bessemer, Michigan. They resided in Iron Mountain. Bernard worked for the Niagara Paper Mill for a few years and for the City of Iron Mountain Street Department for over thirty-six years retiring in 1989 Bernard was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He enjoyed the Packers, Tigers and rarely missed an Iron Mountain sporting event. He loved going to camp and hunting and fishing. He also liked spending time with his family and baby sitting Miranda, his granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife Jeanette, one son Andrew (Tammy Siedschlag) Schinderle of Iron Mountain, two sisters Kathleen (Darryl) Sanford of Aurora and Marcella of Ohio, and one grandchild Miranda.
Besides his parents Bernard was preceded in death by two brothers Duane and Kenneth Schinderle, and one sister Betty Mashak.
Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2004 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers services will be Saturday, November 20 at 8:30a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 9:00a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
