Beatrice Thorne, 94, of Kingsford, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at Freeman Nursing Home, Kingsford. She was born February 2, 1914, in Montclaire, New Jersey, daughter of the late Leonard and Cora (Harris) Usher. Beatrice graduated from Camden School of Nursing in 1936, and married Donovan Henry Woodward the same year. They moved to Lovington, N.M. where they lived for many years. They had four children. She then married Frank Thorne in 1968, he preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Davis, Belmont, Calif., Betty Occhietti, Iron Mountain; seven grandchildren, Dave Davis, Calif., Donna Chavarria, N.M., Leonard & Bradley Woodward, Tex., Maria DeMerse, Dr. Tony Occhietti, Dr. Mike Occhietti, all of Iron Mountain; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husbands, Beatrice was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Gabbard in 1975, and one son, Leonard Woodward, Sr. in 1992. Private family services were held. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Tex.
