Barbara Joan West-Fleischfresser, 64, of Niagara, passed away November 5, 2011, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
Barb was born March 31, 1947, daughter of the late Jerry and Joyce (Krause) Pringle of Niagara. She lived in the area her entire life and graduated from Niagara High School in 1965. Barbara married Fred Fleischfresser on February 14, 1999.
She loved being a stay at home mom, gardening, and doing crafts, but above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren raiding gardens for the better part of her summers. People didn't know what to expect when Barb was around. She was unique in every way and left an imprint on anyone who met her. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; two daughters, Susie Polaske, Sandra (David) Peterson, both of Iron Mountain; six grandchildren, Tony Pietsch, Madison, Brett Pietsch, Green Bay, Blayne Rogers, Mountain Home, Idaho, Trever Rogers, Brianna Ryan, Jace Peterson, all of Iron Mountain; three sisters, Geri Gardiepy, Quinessec, Evelyn Pringle, Green Bay, and Rosalind Morton, St. Thomas VI; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to The Golden Living Center in Florence.
A memorial gathering will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Iron Mountain. Pastor Miller will be officiating. A luncheon will be offered immediately following the service at 1102 West A Street, Iron Mountain.
