Obituary

Barbara Lee Cole, 67, Long Lake, Wis., passed away Friday, June 20, 2008, at Dickinson Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich. She was born January 1, 1941, in Stambaugh, Mich., daughter of Mary (Sensiba) Roberts and the late George Roberts. On July 7, 1962, she married Douglas L. Cole at Long Lake. He survives. Barbara graduated from Florence High School class of 1958. She received a teaching certificate from the Marinette Teachers College, Marinette, Wis. Following this she attended the University of Wisconsin - Parkside at Kenosha and received her Master's Degree. Barbara love teaching and taught for many years at St Alphonsus Catholic School, Greendale, Wis. Reluctantly she had to leave teaching due to illness. Survivors include her husband, Douglas L. Cole, Long Lake; one daughter, Ginny (Robin) Haebig, Norway, Mich.; mother, Mary Roberts, Iron River, Mich.; two granddaughters, Ashley and Brittany Haebig; three sisters, Judy (Tom) Huffman, Florence, Wis., Kathy Barber, Long Lake, Sue Wells, Tipler, Wis.; one brother, Jack (Cookie) Roberts, Long Lake; one sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jim) Lewis, Long Lake, one brother-in-law, Brad Cole, Rhinelander, Wis., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandparents, Dewey and Clara Roberts and maternal grandparents, John and Lena Sensiba. A Memorial funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at St. Norbert Catholic Church, Long Lake. Rev. Fr. John Cerkas will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Long Lake Cemetery. A Memorial funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at St. Norbert Catholic Church, Long Lake. Rev. Fr. John Cerkas will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Long Lake Cemetery.
