Arlen R. Whitehead, Jr., 51, of Iron Mountain, passed away, Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. He was born on March 3, 1961 in Inglewood, Calif., son of Arlen R. and Dulcie (Lantto) Whitehead, Sr. Arlen grew up in Detroit, Mich., and graduated from Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Detroit. While residing in the Detroit area he worked as an automobile mechanic. He resided in Detroit until 1998 until which time he moved to Iron Mountain. Arlen worked for Selin's Furniture for many years and most recently attended Bay West Community College. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and especially spending time with his family and friends. Arlen is survived by his loving mother, Dulcie, Iron Mountain; one sister, Suzanne Livingston, Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by his father, Arlen R. Whitehead, Sr. A memorial service will be held, Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Hulst Manor, 301 Madison Avenue, Iron Mountain, Mich. Rev. Joseph Gouin will officiate.
