Obituary

Ardith "Art" A. Baumann Sr., 69, of Republic, Mich., passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. He was born November 18, 1942 in Wesboro, Wis., son of the late William and Dorothy (Berg) Baumann. Art joined the U.S. Marine Corp after high school and was very proud to serve his country and was proud of being a Marine. Art was a jack of all trades doing all kinds of work from logging to welding and putting together electrical control panels. He had enjoyed retirement since January 2005. Art married Carol Kadrlik on October 20, 1984. They lived in central Wisconsin until August of 1994 when they moved to Republic. Art enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he was extremely proud of, as well as hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He was the President of the Republic Rabbit Club and an avid member of the Republic Sportsman's Club. Art played on the old-timer's pool league during the winter months. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Carol; three sons, Rodney (Lynn) Peterson, Brantwood, Wis., Art Baumann, Jr., Hartford, Wis., Paul (Roxanne) Baumann, Kewaskum, Wis.; one daughter, Kimberly Baumann, Marshfield, Wis.; three grandchildren, Brooke and Hunter Peterson and Isabella Baumann; two brothers, Richard (Sandy) Miicke and Johnny (special friend Bebe) Miicke; eight sisters, Helen Walworth, Jackie Miicke, Shirley (Bob) Muelleman, Kathy (special friend Chris) McGowan, Debbie (Mark) Berger, Cindy (Jim) Perry, Faith Wicks and Hope (Gene) Ulrich; numerous nieces and nephews; two uncles, Donald Wiitala and Arden (Shirley) Wiitala; one aunt, Ardene Smith. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Miicke. Private family visitation was held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
