Florence, Wisconsin: Anthony DeMuri age 87 of 509 Florence, Avenue, Florence, Wisconsin died Sunday April 6, 2003 at the Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wisconsin. Tony was born on July 9, 1915 in Crystal Falls, Michigan son of the late Peter and Anna (Bonaguro) DeMuri. Tony came to Florence in 1941 and purchased the Central Garage, renaming it Florence Motor Sales. Several years later, he was granted the right to establish a car and truck dealership from the Ford Motor Company. His son's Peter and David continue to operate the business. Tony married Bregeda Sartori on December 19, 1942 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls, Michigan. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence, the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, the Florence Snowmobile Club, and former volunteer of the Florence Fire Department. Tony enjoyed the great outdoors. He was an avid snowmobiler, helping to construct the snowmobile bridge over the Brule River. He loved hunting and fishing, spending many Saturday's and Sunday's at his camp on the Pine River. His bocci Ball court brought many family and friends to enjoy a good game and time together. Tony is survived by his wife of 60years Bregeda (Sartori) of Florence, WI., Two sons, Peter (Debra) DeMuri of Florence, WI., David (Teresa) DeMuri of Crystal Falls, MI., Four grandchildren, DeAnna (Troy) Kassens, Jeffrey DeMuri, Anthony Jr. and Maria DeMuri. One great grandson, Travis Kassens. He was preceded in death by one brother Joseph DeMuri, and four sisters, Ann McRae, Mary Girolimon, Olivia Graham and Gerry Dove. Visitation will be Tuesday April 8, from 4-7PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 7PM at St. Mary's Church. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
