Florence:
Anne Gribble, age 74, of Florence, Wis., passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at Dickinson Memorial Healthcare System in Iron Mountain.
She was born January 3, 1931, in Florence, Wis., the daughter of the late John and Martha (Witynski) Brey. On August 27, 1955, she married Rueben "Ding" Gribble, at St. Mary Church in Florence. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1994.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence where she served as Minister of Praise, Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She did volunteer work for many years at the Florence Nursing Home.
Anne was a loving mother and grandmother who was true to her faith. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Survivors include four sons, David (Lisa) Gribble of Commonwealth, William Gribble, Johnny Gribble, and Jeffery (Jean) Gribble, all of Florence; one daughter, Patricia (William) Kelly of Florence; one brother William (Jackie) Brey of Shaumburg, Ill; four sisters, Josephine Liebergen of DePere, Wis., Mary Pintarelli of Crystal Falls, Janet (Ed) Kelley of Florence, Bernadette Brey of Kingsford; and seven grandchildren, Eric, Amanda, Jason, Jacob, Beth, Jesse and Tia.
Besides her parents and husband Rueben Gribble, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Joe, Sammy, John, and Tom Brey.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2005, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home of Florence. Prayers will be recited at 6:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Sister Marla Clercx. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 18, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence. Fr. Michael Betley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Commonwealth.
