Amy A. Johnson, 101, of Florence, Wis., passed away Friday December 24, 2010, at the Golden Living Center, Florence.
She was born, December 5, 1909, in Crystal Springs, Pa., daughter of the late Christopher and Mary (Seiling) Spade. Amy grew up in Dixon, Ill. where she attended school with President Ronald Reagan. She resided in Florence for over 50 years and was preceded by four husbands,John Kletschka, Charles Gollakner, Richard Casey, and Alvin Paulie Johnson.
Amy lived a long and prolific life and kept her great sense of humor until her last days. One of her wishes was to be featured on NBC with Willard Scott announcing her 100th birthday, which happened in 2009. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and all that knew this feisty little lady.
Amy is survived by two sons, Wayne (Esther) Kletschka, Llewellyn "Pejoe" (Mary) Gollakner of Florence; one sister, Lenora Hazelwood, Golden Living Center, Florence; four step-children, Roy (Marillyn) Johnson, Washington, Wally (Hazel) Johnson, Illinois, JoAnn (Gus) Johnson, Illinois, Kathy (Peter) Witynski, Illinois. Two sisters-in-law, Janice Spade, Iron Mountain, Mabel Spade, Niagara; 16 grandchildren, Lynn (Bob) Sweezy, Florida, Barry (Karen) Burge, Michigan, Connie Burge Mann, Michigan, Greg Burge, Arizona, Tina (Ray) Kletschka, Florence, Dana (Chris) Kletschka, Florence, Tim (Kimba) Kletschka, Florence, Vanessa (Rocky) Kletschka, Florence, Lita (Kenny) Kletschka, Florence, Cheryl (John) Fuse, Iron Mountain, Chris (Maryann) Voelker, Iron Mountain, Donna (Sandro) Carubini, Iron Mountain, Delbert John Gollakner, United Kingdom, Maryann Gollaker, Illinois, Bob (Crystal) Gollakner, Florence, Chevonne (Mike) Merhalski, Florence; 27 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five children, Erma Gollakner, Mary Voelker, Delbert Gollakner, Charles Gollakner, Phyllis Burge; one grandson Jeffrey Kletschka; one grand son-in-law Mark Mann; four brothers, Jake, Vernon, Oscar and Harry Spade; one sister, Isabelle Lund.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will be in Commonwealth Cemetery, Commonwealth, Wis. in the spring.
