Crystal Falls:
Amelia M. Black, age 90, of Crystal Falls, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1913, in Vincenza, Italy, daughter of the late Joseph and Regina (Orlando) Carlotto. She married King Black on October 2, 1937, in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death in 1972. She was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church,
and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother. She was on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board and on the Renovation Committee. Amelia was an amateur artist, made dolls, enjoyed sewing and needlework. She had one of the finest raspberry patches and enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include one son Eugene (Rae) Black of Sagola; one daughter Lois (John) Wagner of Piqua, Ohio; two sisters Theresa Anderson of Crystal Falls, and Mary Stewart of Kissimmee, Florida, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Ralph Black, a brother Geno Carlotto, a sister Louise Slivensky, a half brother Peter Consolaro, and two half sisters Caroline Jondro and Rose Beebee.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 18, 2004, from 12:30 – 1:30p.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Friday at 2:00p.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Fr. Dino Silvestrini will be officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
