Obituary

Alvin R. King, 65, of Florence passed away peacefully May 31, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born November 26, 1947 in Stambaugh, Michigan son of the late Glendon and Tootsie (Margaret) King. He graduated from West Iron County High School. Alvin was raised on a dairy/beef farm in Iron River Michigan with his three brothers, Owen, Ted & Louie and his sister Janice. He worked at the Copper Mine in White Pine Michigan, trimmed trees for Asplundh and drove truck for Gunville Trucking. Alvin was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, tie dying, amongst other hobbies. He spent the last fifteen years of his life living in Florence, ten of those years shared with Susan Hambel. Alvin had many friends in Florence that he spent time with. He loved creating unique wood working projects for special people, building birdhouses and taking walks. In his free time he enjoyed conversations with many people & loved to make them laugh. Alvin is survived by his three brothers, Owen, Ted and Louie King; three biological Children, Maria King, Shawn King, and Suzette Willison; two adopted children, Tina Ingrum, and Christopher King; four nephews, Bryan King, Jeff King, Danny King, and Jimmy King; two nieces, Tammy and Kelly; thirteen grandchildren, Davida King, Tony Henning, Ron Willison, Nicole Leamons, Kaley Ingrum, Amber Willison, Samantha Leamons, Josh King, Zach King, Alysa Mitchell, Jake King, Jordan King & Kaycee Ingrum; four great-grandchildren, Alexander King, Katrina Murray, Mason Peach and Bella Thompson. In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by Glendon and Margaret King, his first son Ronny King and his sister, Janice Smith. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 13th, 2013, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence, WI.
