Alverna S. Anderson, 85, Crystal Falls, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. She was born August 16, 1922, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Herman and Hilda (Isatalo) Frigard. On April 14, 1945, she married Arne A. Anderson in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1996. Alverna was a cook at the Forest Park School in Crystal Falls for many years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2891 Auxiliary, Crystal Falls. She enjoyed her card club, playing cards with her many friends, and was an outdoor enthusiast. Survivors include one daughter, Kris (Larry) Capra, Florence, Wis., one son, Paul Anderson, Crystal Falls; three grandchildren, Jeff Anderson, Britt Brozak, Heather Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Ross Miller and Owen Brozak. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2007, at United Lutheran Church, Crystal Falls. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
