Alphonse "Fonzie" Secinaro, 87, of Iron Mountain, passed away at his home Monday, May 30, 2011, which was on the same day as his father's birthday. He was born on August 26, 1923, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Pacifico and Mary (Cerasoli) Secinaro. Fonzie grew up and attended school in Iron Mountain. He married Irene Capra on May 22, 1948, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. She survives. Fonzie served in the United States Army from 1943 until being honorably discharged in 1946. Upon returning, he attended barber school in Green Bay. Fonzie was a barber in Iron Mountain for over fifty years, retiring in 1997. He also played with the Amicangelo Trio for many years in Iron Mountain and around the Upper Peninsula. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Dickinson area Paisano Club. Fonzie enjoyed camping, trout fishing, playing and listening to music, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene; one son, Anthony (Karen) Secinaro, Iron Mountain; one daughter, Cristine(Steven) Pascoe, Negaunee, Mich.; two sisters, June Constantini, Iron Mountain, Joyce (Earl) Colten, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Tony, Nate, Cassy, Kelly (Chris) Lunseth, Dane (Jenn) Pascoe, Katie (Ryan) Halvorsen; four great-grandchildren, Ella, Olivia, Macey, and Chase. The visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain. The American Legion Uren-Cooper, Post No. 50 will accord military honors at graveside.
