Obituary

Alois E. Balcerzak, 84, of Mansfield, passed away at his home, Wednesday, February 13, 2013. He was born on June 6, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wis., son of the late Alex and Marie (Rydlewski) Balcerzak. Alois grew up in Milwaukee and attended school there. At 18 years of age, Alois, joined the U.S. Army and served in World War II; serving from June 1946 until being honorably discharged in 1952. Alois married Frances Krajacic on June 27, 1953 in Milwaukee. They resided in Milwaukee for three years before moving to Cudahy, Wis. in 1956. While residing in Cudahy, Alois worked for Ladish Company as an inspector. Alois worked there for over 34 years, retiring in 1988. In 2008, he along with his wife, moved to Mansfield Township. He was an active member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Channing, an active member of the Polish Legion in Cudahy during its early years and a member of the American Legion Louis Bowman Post No. 87 and the VFW Tufts-Rondin Post No. 2891, Crystal Falls. He loved fishing and enjoyed gardening. Alois is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Frances; one son, Michael (Amy) Balcerzak, Oak Creek, Wis.; one daughter, Sharon King, Burlington, Wis.; two sisters, Gloria and Laverne, both of Milwaukee; and two grandchildren, Robert King; Stephanie (Andy) Borkowski; two great-granddaughters, Makayla and Brynn; and a special friend, Bruce Bohmes, Burlington, Wis. Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Channing. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Fr. Dan Malone will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, in the spring. Military Honors will be accorded at graveside by The East Side Veterans Council.
