Alma Elizabeth Takala, 63, Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at her home on Stager Lake Road. She was born March 15, 1945, in Painesville, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Almilda (Brooks) Ranta. Survivors include two sons, Floyd Takala, Crystal Falls, John Paul Ranta, Florence, Wis.; grandchildren, Marie (Chuck) Olson, Pembine, Wis., John Ranta, Jr., Holland, Mich.; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Blanche (Glen) Gursky, Jeanette (Orvie) Snodie, both of Crystal Falls, Pearl (Lorence) Kelly, Bollingbrook, Ill.; and one brother, Charles (Janice) Ranta, Iron Mountain, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mabel Hill, Mary Anys, and two brothers, John and Paul Ranta.
