Allen Sylvester Stanek, 55, Crystal Falls, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain. He was born December 31, 1951, in Crystal Falls, son of Mary (Klima) Stanek, Crystal Falls, and the late Joseph Stanek. Allen graduated from Crystal Falls High School, class of 1970. In addition to working on the family farm he worked for R.J. Metal Systems, Arrow Manufacturing of Oak Park, System Controls, and for the past 15 years as a machine operator and welder for Dickinson Homes. Allen was an expert metal fabricator and mechanic, loved riding his Harley, was an antique car collector and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Survivors include two sons, Jordan and Jared Stanek, his mother, Mary Stanek; two step-sons, Jamey McCole and Kody Thrasher, all of Crystal Falls; two step-daughters, Rikki Rouse, Channing, Lacy Thrasher, Rhinelander, Wis.; two brothers, Dennis (Cheryl) Stanek, Gladstone, David Stanek, Crystal Falls; one sister, Donna (Bill) Pankratz, Rochester Hills; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, one daughter, Joey Leah Stanek, and one step-son, Ryan McCole. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2007, at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Prayers will be offered 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. The Rev. Dino Silvestrini will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
