Iron Mountain-Alice J. Person, age 85, of Iron Mountain, Mich. passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara, Wis.

She was born November 23, 1932 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Dietrich) Ring. Alice was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1951. She married Ray Person on May 5, 1956, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Iron Mountain. Alice worked for Dickinson County Healthcare System as a histologist for 43 years, retiring in 1989. She continued as a hospital volunteer for over 20 years.

Alice enjoyed reading, going to the casino, traveling, and especially the time she spent with her family and friends. Her family and friends could always depend on her as she went well beyond what was asked of her over the years. Alice was a gift to all who knew her. She selflessly dedicated her life to her family and friends and served all who crossed her path in a way that made them feel cherished.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Ray; one daughter, Sandra (Michael) Hurtubise, Iron Mountain; one sister, Cynthia Good, Tempe, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Marc (Breeanna), Michelle, Adam (China), Toby (Sarah), Alicia, Angela and Angelo; three great-grandchildren, Zelda, Milo and Ronin; one brother-in-law, William Ullrich, Wadsworth, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Betty Ring, Iron Mountain, Mich. and Laverne Ring, Kalamazoo, Mich.; many nieces, nephews and friends; neighbors, Mike and Karen Blackstone, Iron Mountain; along with longtime special friend, Marge Nicholas, Iron Mountain.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Krokstrom in 2012; three brothers, Robert, Donald and Bruce Ring; two sisters, Arlene Ullrich and Dolores Larson; and her father and mother-in-law, Toby and Katie Person.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 22, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Iron Mountain. Rev. Paul Strom will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
