Iron Mountain: Alice L. Mongrain age 81 formerly of Auora, Wisconsin died Sunday February 16, 2003 at the Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wisconsin. Alice was born on August 29, 1921 in Washington D.C. daughter of the late Perry and Jessica (Wright) Hellyer. Alice graduated from Michigan State University in Lansing with a degree in Public health and a Minor in Education. She went on to attend graduate school at Michigan State and received her Masters in Teaching. She married Jack Dally and they were married 27yrs before he preceded her in death. Alice later married Adolph Vanpembrook and they were married for about 6yrs before he passed away. Most recently in April of 2002 she married Robert Mongrain and he still resides at the Florence Villa Nursing home. Alice early on resided in Washington D.C. and later in Lansing, Michigan she moved to Aurora in 1986. Alice loved reading, playing cribbage and writting books. She has written books on Geography of north America, and a fictional book on Nigeria as well as others. Alice is survived by: her husband Robert. Two sons: John (Maureen) Dally of Lansing, MI Thomas Dally of Traverse City, MI. Two daughters: Patricia (Duane) Barnard of Aurora, WI., Dorothy Gafner of Kalamazoo, MI., Ten grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
