Florence-Alice J. Granica. Age 85, of Florence, Wis., passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, at Clement Manor Assisted Living, Milwaukee, Wis.

She was born January 4, 1933, in Florence, Wis., daughter of the late Otto A. and Lucille (Budzak) Dumke. Alice grew up in Florence and was a graduate of Florence High School. She later moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where she worked as a teacher aid for the Milwaukee Public Schools. Alice met the love of her life, Chester "Chet" Granica. They were married on August 23, 1958, at the First Presbyterian Church in Florence. Chet preceded her in death on December 7, 2012. After their retirement Alice and Chet moved back to Florence. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary in Florence.

Alice enjoyed socializing with her friends, polka music, a strong martini and time spent with her family.

Survivors include one son, David (Lisa) Granica, Milwaukee, Wis.; one daughter, Alicia (Mike) Granica-Frayer, Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Roma (Tony) Bogard, Palm Springs, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

To honor Alice's legacy of life, visitation will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. The memorial service will be Saturday, 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence in the Spring.
