Sandro "Alessandro" Carubini, 56, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at his home.

He was born May 6, 1959, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Mario and Delfina (Dezi) Carubini.

Sandro grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1977.

He worked for Lakeshore Corporation and the Niagara Paper Mill until its closing; Sandro continued his career with the Verso Paper Mill in Escanaba, where he was presently working.

Sandro enjoyed gardening, cooking, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, the Green Bay Packers and especially the time he spent with his family and friends. Most recently, Sandro traveled to Italy to visit his aunts and uncles.

He is survived by one son, Kelby (Melissa) McElroy, Green Bay, Wis.; one daughter, Ashley Carubini, Aurora, Wis.; best friend and partner, Christine Braden; one sister, Lisa Carubini, Iron Mountain; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his dog, Buddy.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 4, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Saturday, December 5, 2015, 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
