Obituary

Albert J. Holst, Jr., 83, of Goodman, passed away unexpectedly, September 30, 2015, in Oconto Falls, Wis. He was born January 1, 1932, in Half Day, Ill., son of the late, Albert and Viola (Foote) Holst, Sr. Al resided for a few years in Illinois then moved to Union Grove, Wis. where he graduated from High School. He married Bonnie Earle on December 10, 1960, in Burlington, Wis. They resided in Burlington until 2002, at which time they moved to Goodman. Al hauled milk in the Union Grove area for a few years, prior to going to work for Albert Trostel's limited in Lake Geneva, Wis. He started out as a Laborer and worked his way up to Foreman; he was employed there from 1959 until 1995. He then worked for The Rug Doctor in Wisconsin for a few years. He was an active member of the Kingdom Hall-Jehovah's Witness, Armstrong Creek, Wis., where he served as Ministerial Servant. Al enjoyed fishing, word search, crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together, watching baseball and football on television and took pride in his yard work. Al is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bonnie; four brothers, Bill (Barb) Holst, Burlington, Ed Holst, Racine, Wis., Jim Holst, Abrams, Wis. and Harold Holst, Union Grove and aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by five brothers, Pete, Ray, Ken, Don and John Holst and one sister, Bernice Rankin. Visitation will be held, Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Armstrong Creek. The Memorial Talk will be given Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at the Hall, by Ralph Wilson, Elder. A memorial will be established in his memory.
