Obituary

Iron Mountain: Albert J. Bray age 88, of Quinnesec, Michigan died Friday July 30, 2004 at his home. Albert was born on March 31, 1916 in Vulcan, Michigan son of the late Joseph and Mary Bray. Albert grew up in Vulcan and attended Vulcan High School were he graduated in 1933. He married Gertrude Poquette in March of 1937 at the American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. They resided in Kingsford. Albert worked in many of the local mines in the area including the Vulcan Mine. In 1956 Albert and his wife Gertrude moved to Chicago where Albert worked on Construction until 1978 when they moved to Quinnesec were they have resided. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family. Albert is survived by, His loving wife of 67 years Gertrude. One son, Gerald "Mickey" (Marian) Bray of Naples, Florida. Two daughters, Sharon (Stanton) Serwitz and Patricia (Robert) Heinke both of Crystal Lake, Illinois. Two brothers, Henry (Rose) Bray of Vulcan and Florian (Pat) Bray of Iron Mountain. Two sisters, Kay Tinetti of Hamilton Lakes in Vulcan, MI Fran Menapace of Norway, MI. 8 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert is preceded by one brother John Bray and one sister Ann Schwei. Visitation will be Tuesday August 3, 2004 from 9-11a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Tuesday 11a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Fr. Joseph Gouin officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery in Quinnesec, Michigan. In lieu of flowers a memorials can be made to the Dickinson County Cancer Unit.
