Obituary

Kingsford Adolph Basil (Pete) Bartolameolli, age 86, of 717 Saratoga Street, Kingsford, Michigan, passed away on May 26, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iron Mountain, following a lengthy illness. He was born April 5, 1918, in Loretto, Michigan, son of the late Max and Viola (Fedrizzi) Bartolameolli. Pete grew up and attended school in Iron Mountain. He joined the US Army and was a World War II veteran. He was also a member of the Local Laborers Union #1329. He married the former Hilka Hamari and she preceded him in death on August 28, 1997. He worked as a mason contractor with Bartolameolli and Johnson Contracting and later retired from the Tilden Mine in Ishpeming. Pete was well known as an avid hunter and fisherman. He gave away countless meals of fresh trout and game to his relatives and friends. Anyone who knew him realized that the time he spent at camp or in the outdoors was what he enjoyed the most. Survivors include one son Thomas Bartolameolli of Kingsford, three daughters; Gloria Hammill of Iron Mountain, Carol Bartolameolli of Iron Mountain, and Mary Beth (Dan) Bezotte of Kingsford, two grandchildren; Angela Hammill of Appleton and Christopher Bezotte of Kingsford, one brother Henry (Lucille) Bartolameolli of Iron Mountain, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife Hilka, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Louis, Max and Albert Bartolameolli. Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2004, from 8:30 – 10:30a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home. Rev. David Wilton of Maranatha Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
