Aaron J. Swanson, 63, of Kingsford, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, at ManorCare Health Services, Kingsford. He was born April 8, 1948, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Harold and Ione (Groleau) Swanson. Aaron grew up in Sagola and graduated from Channing High School, Class of 1967. Aaron worked on the Ford River Potato Farms for many years, and has resided in Kingsford for the past 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, his small garden, and going to the casino. Aaron also cherished the time he spent with Jenni and was a wonderful uncle to his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all of them. Aaron is survived by his fiancé, Jenni Dumais, Kingsford; one brother, Dan (Barb) Casper, Clintonville, Wis.; two sisters, Cindy (John) Holtslander, Rapid River, Mich., Yvonne (William) Schultz, Channing; nieces and nephews, Amy (Jake) Smith, Dave (Jessica) Schultz, Karen Casper, Trisha (Bill) Peterson, Crsytal (Kurt) Reith, Nathan (Ashley Krause) Holtslander, Tara (Gary) Figi; great nieces and nephews, Alexandra, Dylan, Marlana, Brianna, Karanda, Cameron, William, Gabriella, Lauren, Kristy, Sherry, Cindy, Kurt, Jr., and Myshell. Visitation will be held Monday, September 26, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, Sagola. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Channing Cemetery, Channing. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Opsahl, Steve Aronson, David Schultz, Nathan Holtslander, Dylan Schultz, Cameron Schultz, William Smith, Kurt Reith.
