Obituary

A. Elayne Gunville, 84, of Niagara, passed away July 9, 2010, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara. She was born June 5, 1926, in Niagara, daughter of the late Derick and Martha (Thomson) Brault. Elayne married Stewart Gunville on February 15, 1947, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. She was a lifelong resident of Niagara. Elayne enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, cooking, oil painting, and she was a talented seamstress, having made numerous baptismal cloths for the church. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women. Elayne's greatest joy in life was her family; she was an exceptional wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Stewart Gunville; two sons, Thomas (Tana) Gunville, Alpine, Tex., Charlie (Patty) Gunville, Niagara; three daughters, Suellen (Steve) Inglese, Iron Mountain, Charlene (Joe Gille) Gunville, Niagara, Betty Gunville, Spread Eagle, Wis.; one brother, Fabian (Audrey) Brault, Neenah, Wis.; one sister, Delores (James) Vandermoss, Kewaunee, Wis.; ten grandchildren, Cindy (Devon) Davis, Pam (Jason) Prinz, Tia (Aaron) Sawyer, Tera Gunville, Jeffrey (Lisa) May, Christopher (Molly) May, Bradley (Kristi) Gunville, Kristin Smith, TJ Smith, Brittany Gunville; eight great-grandchildren, numerous special nieces and nephews including, Bob and Sonja Bilski, Carol Ann and Mark Liska, and their families. Elayne was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra May, 1976; two sisters, Johanna Miller and special sister and best friend, Audrey Bilski. Visitation will be Monday, July 12, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Rev. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara The Gunville family would like to extend a special thank you to the Maryhill Manor staff for their care and compassion for Elayne and her family over the past four years. A memorial will be established in Elayne's memory.
