Obituary for William H. Howell

Rhinelander- William H. Howell, 37, of Rhinelander, Wis., formerly of Felch, Mich. “North Dickinson,” passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, Wis.

He was born September 20, 1983, in Tucker, Georgia, son of Mike Nevil and Dora (Howell) Reeder. Bill attended North Dickinson High School, where he played football during his freshman and sophomore years. He transferred to Norway High School for his junior and senior years to participate in their wrestling program. After graduation, Bill served in the United States National Guard. He married Robin Vandenberg on June 16, 2012, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. They resided in Niagara and then Kingsford for a couple of years before moving to Rhinelander in May of 2017. Bill worked for Ahlstrom- Munksjo Paper Mill, where he worked on the paper machine.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially the time spent with his children and family. He will be missed by his many friends and relatives.

Survivors include his loving wife, Robin; two sons, William Howell and Dylan Benjiman; one daughter, Ellaneece Howell; his mother, Dora Reeder, Florence, Wis.; four brothers, Nick (Rosemary) Nevil, Fence, Wis., Jesse Nevil, Norway, Mich., Mike Nevil, Pennsylvania, and Mark Nevil, Florida; two sisters, Codie (Brent) Sauers and Yvonne (Dave) Martin, both of Pennsylvania; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Mary Vandenberg, Niagara, Wis.; brother-in-law, Darren (Ashley) VanDenberg, Ringle, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Hollie (Scott) Penney, Jordan, Minnesota, and Jamie (Spencer) Grow, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Nevil.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara, Wis. The Memorial Mass will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at the church. Rev. Fr. Michael Lightner will officiate.
