Obituary for Virginia O. "Ginny" Pietrantonio (Allgeyer)

Iron Mountain-Virginia O. “Ginny” Pietrantonio, age 86, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

She was born August 8, 1932, in Ingalls, Mich., daughter of the late Frank and Florence Allgeyer. Ginny grew up in Ingalls and was a graduate of Stephenson High School, class of 1950. On June 28, 1952, she was united in marriage to Nick Pietrantonio. Ginny worked as agent cashier at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, AARP, and the Oak Crest Golf Club.

Ginny enjoyed playing cards, golfing, going to the casino, flowers, cooking and baking, and wintering in Sun City, Arizona. She especially enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Nick; three sons, Bruce Pietrantonio, Milwaukee, Wis., Nick Pietrantonio, Las Vegas, Nevada and Iron Mountain, and Dean Pietrantonio, Norway, Mich.; one daughter, Tina Pietrantonio, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one sister, Doris Daniels; three grandchildren, Nicole (Brandon) Luterbach, Nick Robert Pietrantonio, and Jamie Pietrantonio; one great-grandson, Brandon Pietrantonio; special friend, Jack Wright, Norway, Mich.; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Reitmeyer and Carol LeMieu; and five brothers, Curtis Allgeyer, Sam Allgeyer, Raymond Allgeyer, Douglas Allgeyer, and Marvin Allgeyer.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Prayers will be recited on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate.
