Obituary for Thomas Eugene Trantham
Crystal Falls- Thomas Eugene Trantham, 85, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away on September 2, 2023, in Iron River, Mich.
Thomas was born on March 15, 1938, in Leachville, Arka., to the late James and Mabel (Thomas) Trantham. He married Anna Darlene Bicknell in February of 1957 and raised three children in Flint, Mich. After working 36 years for General Motors (GMSPO), Thomas retired on July 1, 1992. He then moved from Flint to Crystal Falls and enjoyed life at Buck Lake. Thomas and Darlene spent 60 years of marriage together before Darlene’s passing in June of 2017.
Thomas was a Masonic Mason and a Shriner, working the Flint Shrine Circus for several years. He was also a United Kennel Club judge for the American Eskimo dog breed. Thomas enjoyed woodworking, making birdhouses and bat houses, and loved reading history and Western books. Life was always best when his children and grandchildren were around, especially if he was in a boat fishing with them.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Tamara (Rick) Ledford; sons, David Trantham and Christopher (Teresa) Trantham; grandchildren, Antonia Trantham, Kathryn Trantham, Sydney Trantham, and Scott (Krystal) Snider; great-granddaughter, Brook Snider; several nieces, nephews; and special friends, Mick and Betty Rounsiville, Pintar and Koziatek.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, and grandson, Brian Snider.
