Obituary for Thomas J. "Tom" Lanthier

Thomas “Tom” J. Lanthier, 50, of Quinnesec, Mich., passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at UP Health in Marquette.

He was born on December 25, 1970 in Iron Mountain, MIch., to Franklin and the late Kathleen (Koehler) Lanthier.
Tom grew up in Niagara, Wisc., and graduated from Niagara High School class of 1989. He was baptized and received his first communion from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Niagara, Wisc. Tom worked for Boss Snow Plow for fifteen years where he certified many young up and coming welders. He then went on to work for R. C. Fabrication Company, Iron Mountain in 2015 until present.

He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He loved playing soccer at a young age and later coached soccer for many years.

He enjoyed working on cars, especially his 1972 Cutlass Supreme, taking many road trips over the years, attending his children’s sporting events, and especially time spent fishing with his daughter and two sons. Tom loved animals especially dogs, and will be joining his beloved Buddy in heaven.

Survivors include his sons, Alex Lanthier, Lake Villa, Il., and Matt Lanthier, Niagara, Wisc.; one daughter, Vanessa Lanthier, Niagara, Wisc., his father Franklin Lanthier of Niagara, Wisc.; mother of his children and good friend, Delilah “Dee” Wons-Lanthier of Niagara, Wisc.; three brothers, Mark (Tammy) Lanthier of Niagara, Wisc., Michael Lanthier of Quinnesec, Mich., and Donald (Julie) Lanthier of Kingsford, MIch.; three sisters, Marquerite Lanthier of Niagara, Wisc., Nancy (Chuck) Pellegrini of Norway, Mich., and Carol (Dale) Warren of Kingsford, MIch.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen (Koehler) Lanthier.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., at the Jacobs Funeral Home – Niagara Chapel. Prayers will be recited Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
