Obituary for Steven Paul Grell

Steven “Steve” Paul Grell age 57 passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 23rd in Colorado.

Steve was born on February 19, 1966 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to Richard Grell and Darlene “Dolly” (Widder) Grell.

He graduated from Florence high school in 1984. Steve worked for MJ Electric out of Iron Mountain Michigan where he had the opportunity to work in many places across the country over the years including Florida, Alaska, Minnesota, Texas and most recently Colorado. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing but, especially loved his family. He always looked forward to seeing his children and grandchildren where he was known as “Papa Steve.”

Steve is survived by the mother of his children, Stephanie Grell; children, Derek (Tiara) Beekman, Trevor (Kristi) Grell, Miranda Grell, Tanner (fiancé’ Madison Billings) Grell; grandchildren, Emma, Macy, Remi, Braxton, Shepard and Ian; father Richard (Marie) Grell; stepfather, Wayne Kolberg; siblings, Tony (Maureen) Grell, Fred (Peggy) Noeske, Dawn (Guy) Zielke, Travis (Jennifer) Grell, Tim (Julianne) Grell, Mike (Sara) and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his Mother, Dolly Kolberg; step-father, Jerry Noeske; and nephew Jason Enders.

Visitation will be held Friday November 3,2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence. A celebration of life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Pastor Cathy Morris is officiating. Following the celebration of life the family invited you to a luncheon at Florence fire hall.


A Celebration of life in Fremont, Michigan will be held on Wednesday November 8, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Harvest Fremont Church. 5479 W 72nd, Fremont, MI 49412.
