Obituary for Stella M. Recla (Osieczonek)
Iron Mountain-Stella M. Recla, age 83, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.
She was born April 21, 1935, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Steve and Jane (Mattord) Osieczonek. Stella grew up in Iron Mountain and attended Kingsford schools. On January 27, 1960, she married Eugene Recla in Iron Mountain and they remained there for a few years before moving to Randville, Mich. in 1981.
Stella worked for the Chippewa Club, Iron Mountain, for 10 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and especially the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Eugene Recla; one son, Daniel (Rebecca) Recla, LaBarge, Wyoming; two daughters, Dawn (Gerald) Kunick, Seymour, Wis. and Tina Salmi, Negaunee, Mich.; two brothers, Bob (Mary) Osieczonek, Sheboygan, Wis., and Eugene (Shirley) Osieczonek, Algonac, Mich.; two sisters, June Kalnick, Phillips, Wis. and Virginia (Donald) Ackerman, Evanston, Wyoming; eight grandchildren, Steve Kunick, Jason Kunick, Jeffery Kunick, Steven Recla, Jessie Recla, Samantha Recla, Sarah Recla an April Recla; and by three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by one son, Roy Recla; nine brothers, Edward, Joe, Lefty, Ernie, Francis, Wayne, Donald, Walter and Richard Osieczonek; two sisters, Gertrude Gray and Eleanor Osieczonek, and by a granddaughter, Becky Recla.
In accordance with Stella’s wishes, private family services will be held.
