Shirley served on the Board of Wausaukee Enterprises for 52 Years (they provide day center services and sheltered employment activities for handicapped students and adults).

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney in 2018; one son, Richard Shafer in 2016; one grandson, Jon Thomas Sederstrom; and one great-granddaughter, Audrey Theuerkauf.

A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Catholic Church, Pembine, Wis. Rev. Fr. Quinn Mann will officiate. Burial will follow in Pembine Cemetery.
