Obituary for Roy M. Pivatto

Alpha- Roy M. Pivatto, 66, of Alpha, Mich., passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, at his home.

He was born March 20, 1956, in Crystal Falls, Mich., son of the late Robert and Darlene (Johnson) Pivatto. Roy grew up in Crystal Falls and was a graduate of Forest Park High School, class of 1974. His first job was working at Pivatto’s Grocery Store, he worked in the woods, and later Ragio Concrete. Working as a stone mason he created unique fireplaces along with his son, Robert. Five years before he became ill Roy worked at the Florence Nursing Home as a maintenance supervisor where he enjoyed working and visiting with the residents.

Roy was an avid deer and bird hunter, and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He had a glimmer of mischief in his eyes and a personality to match. Roy was Roy.

He leaves behind the love of his life of 36 years, Debbie Neault; his best friend of 17 plus years, Scruffy, who every night he faithfully took for their cruise to Buck Lake Park to run and play and to take the ride around the square.

Other survivors include his son, Robert (Kathy) Pivatto, Crystal Falls, Mich.; one brother David (Tina) Pivatto, Menominee, Mich.; one sister, Jill (Rick) Morkin, De Pere, Wisc.; grandson, Logan; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; one sister-in-law, Elena Rousseau, who watched Scruffy and cooked for them when needed; good friend Tracie (Erik) and the crew whom he visited almost nightly and enjoyed time with them.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his special mother-in-law, Mary Neault.

A celebration of Roy’s life will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the VFW in Crystal Falls, Mich.
