Obituary for Robert H Williams
Iron River- Robert H. Williams, 84, of Iron River, Mich., passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff, Wis.
He was born April 6, 1937, in Detroit, Mich., son of the late Harry and Loretta (Bruman) Williams. Robert grew up in Detroit and received his GED from Thomas M. Cooley High School, class of 1957. He proudly served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. Robert was united in marriage to Sheila Steiner on March 9, 1968, in Redford Township, Mich. She preceded him in death in 1982. Robert worked as a firefighter for the City of Detroit until his retirement.
He enjoyed flying, boating, skiing, snowboarding, and riding motorcycles. He was an avid reader and supported the arts. He was a member of the American Legion, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), and Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).
Survivors include one son, James (Pam) Williams; three daughters, Christine (Rogers) Claussen, Jennifer Williams and Kim (Chad) Baslock; one sister, Ann Allen; and seven grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Shane (Lauren) Williams, Remington Claussen, Cameron Claussen, Evan Beyersdorf, Ella Beyersdorf, and Audrey Baslock.
In addition to his parents and wife, Sheila, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Williams.
