Obituary for Richard J. Watson
Kingsford-Richard J. Watson, age 82, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019, at his home.
He was born October 29, 1936, in Rollin Township, Mich., son of the late Orlo J. and Dorthy L. (Hess) Watson. Richard grew up in Michigan and was a graduate of Cement City Agricultural School, class of 1955. He went on to attend several trade schools as well as Black River Technical School where he received his EMT license.
Richard was a jack of all trade and a survivalist. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his two sons, Timothy Watson, Cadiz, Ky., and Jerry Lee Watson, Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Diane Harrington, Marquette, Mich.; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Watson.
In accordance with Richard’s wishes, private family services will be held.
