Florence- Richard L. “Rick” Forster, age 65, of Florence, Wis., passed away peacefully at Dickinson County Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich. on September 12, 2018.

He was born May 4, 1953, in Kaukauna, Wis., son of the late Conrad and Laverne (DeBroux) Forster. Rick graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1971 then started at the local paper mill. He left there to open his own business, Forster Construction. In 1995, he moved to Door County and bought the Little Brown Jug which he ran for thirteen years. In 2008, Rick and his wife, Kim, moved to their cherished piece of property, “Teepee Land” in Long Lake, Wisconsin.

Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing with his lifelong friend, Jeffrey Dreier. He spent his time being outdoors, listening to music, and researching things to prove people wrong with his knowledge of ‘fun facts’.

He is survived by his wife, Kim; three step daughters, Melissa, Ashley, and Kori; eight step grandchildren; two brothers, Conrad Jr. and John, and by one sister, Allison.

He is preceded by his parents, Conrad and Laverne Forster.

In accordance with Rick’s wishes, private family services will be held.
