Iron Mountain-Raymond “Ray” Walter Plank, age 82, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.

He was born March 7, 1936, in Crystal Falls, Mich., son of the late George and Dorothy (Rosa) Plank. Ray grew up in Crystal Falls and was a graduate of Crystal Falls Forest Park High School, class of 1955. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1961. Ray married Gloria Cram on May 24, 1991, in Crystal Falls. They were residents of Crystal Falls until they moved to Iron Mountain in 2015. He worked for a few years in the Iron County area for Wiggins Dairy and later went to work for the Goodman Mill as a chipper operator, where he retired.

Ray enjoyed tinkering around the house, eating ice cream, and especially the time he spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Gloria; one son, Guy (Laureen) Michaud, Iron Mountain, Mich.; six daughters, Lisa Plank, Arizona, Jackie (Eric) Clawson, Iron Mountain, Mich., Gigi (Ed) Thoune, Iron Mountain, Mich., Gidget (Steve) Jesseman, Kingsford, Mich., Ginger (Troy Ramsvig) Michaud, Fredric, Mich. and Dawn (Tom) Roche, Crystal Falls, Mich.; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; two special cousins, Jeanette Sliva, Crystal Falls, Mich., Jean Consla, Amasa, Mich. and special papa to Erica (Paul Roberts) Michaud, Iron Mountain and Laurie (Antonio) Herrera, Texas.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jake Michaud and Anthony Seymour.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Kingsford, Mich. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich.
