Obituary for Patricia Ann Rouse (Schintgen)

Patricia Ann (Schintgen) Rouse, 80, of Niagara, Wisc., passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at The Waters of Oak Creek Assisted Living, Oak Creek, Wisc., after a long illness, peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 27, 1943, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late William and Santina (Pancheri) Schintgen.

Pat was a proud lifelong resident of Niagara. She worked many years along with Doug operating Doug’s Hilltop Lanes in Niagara. She loved cooking for a crowd and was best known for her pizzas, soups and chili, and her notorious holiday eggnog. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and volunteered there in her retirement.

Pat was a loving grandmother and aunt. She was very proud of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed being “Auntie Pat” to many in the community; a title that brought her great happiness.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin Rae Rouse and Rachel Renee Rouse (Michael Merry); grandchildren, Vyla and Evalyn Shea, Santina and Jameson Carver, and Ian, Greyson and Estella Merry; her siblings, Annabelle Bumford (James), Evans Schintgen, and William Schintgen along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Schintgen, her husbands, Ronald Michaud, Richard Rouse, and her partner, Douglas Payette.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., at Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel, Niagara, Wisc., prayers at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Niagara, Wisc., with Father Soja Joseph officiating. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara, Wisc.
