Obituary for Mary H. Moroni (Berutti)
Kingsford- Mary H. Moroni, 81, of Kingsford, MI, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Evergreen Senior Living, Kingsford, MI.
She was born August 13, 1941, in Iron Mountain, MI, a daughter of the late Alfred and Helen (Quinlan) Berutti. Mary grew up in Kingsford and was a graduate of Kingsford High School, class of 1959. She married Michael Moroni on August 27, 1960. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2020.
Mary worked at MJ Electric, First National Bank, Strand Accounting, and served for fifteen years as treasurer for the City of Kingsford. Mary, along with her husband, owned and operated several businesses throughout their lives, including Bambi Park Motel, Vulcan USA Ski Hill, and Evergreen Senior Living.
Mary was an active member of the American Martyrs Catholic Church, serving as a lay minister and a member of the Church Collection Committee for many years. She and Michael wintered in Bonita Springs, FL., where they were both active members in the Vasari County Club community. They were both avid Kingsford Flivver Fans and never missed a home or away game. Mary also volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul and belonged to Moonlake Ladies Lunch Club and the Couples Bridge Club. She was a proud Flivver and proud to be a member of the Kingsford Alumni Scholarship Committee.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Moroni, Kingsford, MI., and Jennifer (Greg) Anderson, Kingsford, MI.; grandchildren, Michael (Grace Dietrich) Anderson and Ben (Livea Mazurek) Anderson; great-granddaughter, Blaire Anderson; one sister, Margaret (Harvey) Johnson; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Berutti and Jill (Robert) Imel; brother-in-law, Thomas (Michael) Moroni; five nieces; and five nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Michael, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas L. Berutti.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at American Martyrs Catholic Church, Kingsford, Michigan, with Msgr. Joseph O. Gouin officiating. Burial will take place in Breitung Township Cemetery, Quinnesec, MI.
