Obituary for Mary Ann Dain (Peterson)
Iron Mountain – Mary A. Dain, 87, Kingsford, Mich., passed away, Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kingsford.
She was born on December 23, 1931, in Green Bay, Wisc., daughter of the late Robert and Ellen (Bozile) Peterson. Mary attended Kingsford High School and graduated with the class of 1950, she married Richard Anderson in 1950, and he preceded her in death. Mary later married Mayford Dain in 1988, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Kingsford. He has also preceded her in death.
Mary has been an active member of the local community for years but will be best known for serving as the director at the Iron Mountain Senior Citizens Center for 23 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace, enjoyed working in her flower garden, camping, and especially corresponding with family and friends throughout the years.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Jim) Dale, Iron Mountain, Mich.; Sue (Jack) Gingrass, Iron Mountain, Mich.; Janet (Curt) Frame, California; Julie (Ron) Dain, New London, Wisc.; five step-children and their families; one brother, Jim (Christine) House, Crystal Falls, Mich.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and special niece Ellen (Randy) Harvath, Marshall, Mich..
In addition to her parents, and husbands Richard and Mayford, Mary was preceded in death by one great-grandson Dylan Dale.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2019, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral Services will be held Friday, 5:00 PM at the funeral Home. Rev. Fr. Michael Woempner will officiate. Burial will be held in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
