Obituary for Marlys A. Hoffman (Process)
Channing- Marlys A. Hoffman, 77, of Channing, Mich., passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.
She was born February 6, 1944, in Crystal Falls, Mich., daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Swanson) Process. Marlys grew up and attended school in Channing. She married Rudolph Hoffman on June 29, 1989. She worked in the shipping department at Great Lakes Instruments, until her retirement.
Marlys is a member of Sagola Presbyterian Church,and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches. She also enjoyed shopping and looking for the “good deal”. Marlys was a huge Elvis fan but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Rudolph “Rudy” Hoffman; one son, Douglas Hurkmans, Saukville, Wis.; two daughters, Kay Hurkmans, Channing, Mich., and Kelly Hood, Sagola, Mich.; one brother, Terry (Mary) Process, Norway, Mich.; one sister, Gail Hamby, Randville, Mich.; four grandchildren, Justin Pauliot, Douglas Pauliot, Samantha Hurkmans and Kaitlyn Hood; five great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Kohen, Lucy, Kayden and Gianna; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marlys was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Leroy, Ronnie and Fritz Process; and two sisters, Clarice Lefebvre and Nancy Process.
A celebration of life and luncheon for Marlys will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Sagola Community Building, 306 1st Street, Sagola, MI 49881.
