Obituary for Mark Jon Meyers
Iron Mountain- Mark Jon Meyers, 56, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of September 5, 2022, at his home with his beloved dogs Oscar and Olive by his side.
Mark was born on March 22, 1966. He graduated from Florence High School in 1984. Following graduation, he moved to Tempe, Arizona, where he attended Arizona State University for a short period. Mark moved back to Milwaukee and completed his Bachelor’s Degree at Cardinal Stritch University. Mark took after his father and was a math expert. He proceeded with a career in the Finance Industry.
In Milwaukee, Mark met and married Denise Ann Dunn and had two sons. After his divorce, he eventually moved to Iron Mountain in 2010, making it his home. He was a race car fanatic and worked diligently on his 442. Recently he purchased a prized Trans Am and enjoyed taking it to car shows around the area. He was an avid Packer Fan and enjoyed going to games, even in the worst weather. But most of all, he enjoyed his home, family, friends, and his dogs.
His adult life was somewhat checkered with good and bad. He was far from perfect. But in his heart, he was a kind and caring person and tried his best to be a good father to his sons and a good friend to the people and family in his life.
Mark is survived by his mother, Madalen Meyers Holcomb, of Wickenburg, Arizona; his two sons Mark Anthony Meyers and Joseph Lee Meyers, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his sister Kim (Chow) Chong of Mishicot, Wisconsin; his brother Kevin (Corin Wright) Meyers of Iron Mountain; his uncle Jon Tomasi of Silver Lake, Michigan; and his sister-in-law Kathy Meyers of Apache Junction, Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lee D. Meyers.
Mark’s precious dogs, Oscar and Olive, will remain in the family and will not be separated.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Iron Mountain.
