Obituary for Marilyn Pearl Parsons (Henry)

Kingsford- Marilyn P. Parsons, 86, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Freeman Nursing & Rehab Center, Kingsford, Mich.

She was born May 6, 1935, in Wonewoc, Wis., daughter of the late John and Ilene Ella (Marshall) Henry. Marilyn grew up and attended school in Moston, Wis. After graduation, she moved to Detroit to continue schooling, and this was when she met her husband, Richard Norris. They married September 10, 1955, in Detroit and, following marriage, resided there for the next 12 years. They later moved to Freesoil, Mich., Gould City, Mich., and then Gwinn, Mich. In 1980 they moved to Kingsford and owned and operated the Dairy Queen. Richard preceded Marilyn in death in November of 1991. Marilyn then married Walter Parsons on February 14, 2001. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2016.

She was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Kingsford and enjoyed cooking. Marilyn especially enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family and her dog, peanut.

Survivors include three daughters, Pamela (Mark) Moehle, Franklin Tennessee, Robin (Bob) Fillman, Kingsford, Mich., and Kari (Vern) Miller, Kingsford, Mich.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Marilyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Robert Henry.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Maranatha Assembly of God Church, Kingsford, Mich. The funeral service will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. David Wilton will officiate.
