Foster City - Madge Massie, 68, of Foster City, left this earth on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at ManorCare, Kingsford, Mich. with her loving husband by her side after a long battle with leukemia and graft versus host disease from her stem cell transplant. She was surrounded by love by her family. She fought hard and made the most of everyday. She was still making everyone smile and laugh with her wit and charm.

Madge was born on Dec 1, 1950, in Dearborn Mich., second daughter to Michael and Gertrude (Janik) McGee. She was raised in Dearborn and was a 1968 graduate from Fordson High School where she met the love of her life Bob Massie.

Madge married Robert (Bob) Massie on May 27, 1971, in Dearborn. They moved from Plymouth, Mich. to Hardwood, Mich. in 1973 and raised their family of 3 boys.

Madge enjoyed time with family and friends. She was an excellent cook. She made many fabulous dinners and desserts for family and friends. She used every dish in the house on holidays. She would even make goodies for her Madison Medical friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours relaxing in the sun near her pool. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and watching them play around in the pool or hanging out at camp. Madge worked as a cook and teacher’s aide at North Dickinson School for many years.

Madge is survived by her loving husband Robert “Bob” Massie, her three sons, Rob (Karla) Massie, Hardwood, Mich., Jim (Shellie) Massie, Bark River, Mich., Justin “Buzz” (Sarah) Massie, Foster City, Mich.; six grandchildren Wyatt, EmmaLee “Emme”, Robert “Wes”, Gage, Whitney, and Dakota Massie. Bob’s siblings Rick (Julie) Massie, Jack (Coco Reck) Massie, LouAnn Cunningham and Denise (Paul) Hellebuyck; three great nieces and nephews Clyde, Ainsley, and John; many friends especially her two best friends, June Bingham and Sharon Larson, who spent many hours playing cards, shopping and laughing together.

Madge was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Gertrude McGee, Bob’s parents Robert and Aggie Massie and her brother-in-law Craig Cunningham.
