Obituary for Lynn W. Brownell

Ironwood- Lynn W. Brownell, 89, of Ironwood, Mich., passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Pinecrest Medical Facility, Powers, Mich.

He was born February 5, 1932, in Calderwood, Mich., son of the late Claude and Alice (Pittsley) Brownell. Lynn proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge. He worked as a logger and loved the woods. Lynn was united in marriage to Barbara Wood. She preceded him in death in 1996.

Lynn enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Michael (Sherry) Brownell, Ironwood, Mich., David (Pamela) Brownell, Kincaid, West Virginia, and William “Bill” Brownell, Oshkosh, Wis.; two daughters, Janet (Timothy) Parish, Cedar Hill, Tennessee, and Penny Clemons, Ironwood, Mich.; three brothers, Charles “Bud” (Candy) Brownell, Tennessee, Hollus Brownell, Wakefield, Mich., and Jerry Brownell, Wakefield, Mich.; six sisters, Claudia “Babe” Korning, Sussex, Wis., Betty Kerr, Hurley, Wis., Gloria (Larry) Tapper, Superior, Wis., Barbara Severson, Superior, Wis., Darlene Kelley, Texas and Peggy Tucci, Superior, Wis.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Barbara, Lynn was preceded in death by three sisters, Carol, Dorothy, and Judy.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the VFW in Wakefield, Mich.
