Obituary for Lyle E. Vanden Heuvel

Florence – Lyle E. Vanden Heuvel, 89, of Florence, Wisc., passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Florence Health Services, Florence, Wisc.

He was born on March 3, 1934, in Oneida, Wisc., to the late Edward and Marie (VanBrook) Vanden Heuvel.

Lyle grew up in Oneida and lived in the Green Bay area as well as Florence, Wisc. He worked at Morning Glory Dairy from 1952 until he retired in 1993. After retirement, he moved to Florence in 1994. He enjoyed his “snow bird” winters in Englewood, Florida. To many he was known as the “Bear Man”.

He is survived by son, Tim (Kathy) Vanden Heuvel; daughters, Vicki (Duane) Ambroius, and Julie Harvey; and brother, Gene (Sally) Vanden Heuvel; mother of his children, Joann Quimby; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, William “Bill” Vanden Heuvel, and Rick Vanden Heuvel; sisters, Maggie Morrow, and Florence Ness; and brothers, Gordon “Sonny” Vanden Heuvel, and Carl Vanden Heuvel.

In accordance with Lyle’s wishes, private family services will be held at a later date.
